An exciting new opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Food & Beverage Manager. to join our team in this exciting growth phase. The role will be responsible for the food & beverage service delivery at the Mountain Heritage Hotel located in Katoomba amongst the majestic Blue Mountains. Accommodation will be provided for the first 4 weeks!

 

About the role

Reporting to the Hotel General Manager your primary focus is to drive continuous improvement in all measures of performance of the food & beverage operations with particular emphasis on innovation, reputation enhancement, quality of product and service, and profitability.

 

The Food and Beverage Manager will be a visible leader and promoter of change by maintaining awareness of industry trends, consumer tastes and new business opportunities, and will build a culture of excellence in all facets of the department. The Food & Beverage Manager will provide consistent leadership and guidance to team members while ensuring operational requirements are met and maintained. 

 

We would like the successful candidate to ideally commence as soon as possible, however are flexible with the right person.

 

Duties

  • Oversee food & beverage operations, reporting and reconciliation of daily activities.
  • Manage, motivate and mentor all F&B staff to ensure quality service is received by all Hotel guests at all times.
  • Liaise with the Group Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen and production of quality menus that are designed to suit the business and achieve budgeted food costs.
  • Oversee menu engineering, research, development, costing and implementation of new menus, concepts, promotions, cocktails and wine lists.
  • Ensure all employees work in a safe environment.
  • Initiate in conjunction with the General Manager promotional concepts and ideas for all F&B outlets to drive sales revenues, increase cover spend and reduce operating costs.
  • Lead by example and be a positive advocate for the brand

Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications in Business Management, Catering Management or Hospitality Management
  • Current RSA certification and food handling certificate.
  • A minimum 3 years in a management role of a high volume Hotel Food & Beverage operation with demonstrated career progression.
  • A foodie with a passion for great food, wine, cocktails and beverages
  • Demonstrable track record of success in a customer service environment
  • Outstanding communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent time keeping skills with the ability to deal with quick turnaround and large group bookings
  • Ability to work under pressure and work well in a team environment
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong sense of integrity & honesty
